I'm actually in Northeast PA from today until Sunday and we had all of this a few hours ago so it shifted to you. But a 2nd more minor thunderstorm is brewing......

Lightning Thunder STILL going! And I think my coordinates just changed with that Earthquake type of Thunder. WTF was that. Gees. 3.5 hrs now with a 45 minute silent break.

Tweets I found interesting why the winds off the water didn't cut into the storms today. I didn't think there would be storms in CT!

SSW wind though. Looks like they ran out of gas/prime heating/instability

agree w/you...boundary so far to the west too... the storms... trigger (cold/stationary front) too far to the west, in addition to the fact that they were diurnally driven

Advected over water at some point. And KGON was due South all day. Climo had wind @200 degrees in this setup

For the first time ever, the Boston Pops fireworks show has been moved off from July 4 due to Arthur, it will be shown tomorrow night instead. Macy's in NYC plans to do on the 4th, based on a combination of forecasts saying the rain will have past and claims that they have run it in the rain before and have only postponed in the past (to a later time, not date) due to lightning.

And there it is... A Cat 1 Hurricane now.

Hurricane force winds extend out 25 miles from center.
Tropical Storm force 90 miles from Center.

985mb pressure.

Will stay a Hurricane all the way to coast of MA. (extra tropical)

Is that a little too close for comfort for you guys having a Hurricane just 300 miles off shore?

Once it gets closer I'll do the same as this. You'll see how close the winds will be.

Here's HRRR12z model 10meter sustained Winds. Each from is every 2hrs from 9am today to 11pm tonight.

Yellows and Orange = Tropical Storm force 35mph+
Red color = Hurricane force 71mph+

Actually ignore this!!! Had to reduce the GIF file and the red colors don't even show up. lol
