I was reading DC has not had a snow of over 2 inches in almost 3 years.

that's more or less correct - it's either feast or famine it seems with snow: the 2009-2010 winter saw 56" of snow in DC proper and 73" at Dulles Airport outside of the city. Since then, hardly any snow

Thanks! Very helpful. I see a darker blue band that set up from DC to NJ. CT is going to be spared from that right now as it moves south. Snowing pretty good under that. BUT this snow field could expand northward and affect NYC metro.

12pm Station OBSs. Snowing in Danbury and BDR and feels like 4-6° with the wind. High ratio Non Snowball making snow. If it was in the 20s and 30s roads would be melted with this light snow.

I don't see any heavy bands setting up for CT yet.. still in clear for another hour+ with light stuff

I was going to mention a stat regarding January snow total at BDR. Last time they got 14" or more for the entire month was 2005 but 2011 had 42". So there goes that. lol

Did Boston raise the totals? Now 8-10" in northern CT and Upton has 10-14" for CT now? This is a Major widespread snowstorm.... and no new thread? LOL . Next time. Working on getting rid of a headache now

Heavy (darker blue) band of snow looks to be expanding northward now so that's telling me the shield is trying to expand. Heavier snow into southern CT soon

Raised to 8-10 in our area from 6-10. It's coming down right now, looks fluffy and light but it's sticking really good.
