<edit> AH! Not a member anymore. Post wasted. Damn

I for one was done with snow in December
Hoping tomorrow is nice, I took the day off

This really was Philadelphia-Baltimore-DC's year for snow! I am glad it stayed south of LI.

I was hoping for one more storm a couple of weeks ago but I have changed my mind. It is now March 17th. Spring Equinox is in 3 days and I am ready to move on with the seasons. It was breezy and in the teens as I walked my dog this morning...I am done with winter. I want the snow in my yard to melt. I want to start prepping my garden. I want the mound of snow to melt that is currently covering where daffodils should be blooming. BRING SPRING!

Yeah, this is incredibly rough. Really glad we missed this storm though, south of us appears to be getting completely nailed.

At least the second time in 3 weeks or less that mid-Atlantic snow completely missed Connecticut! Also on the bright side for Monday? Literally:

SUNRISE: 7:00 AM
SUNSET: 7:00 PM
DAY LENGTH: 12 HOURS

Philadelphia is currently having their second snowiest winter EVER. Sure, we've had above normal snow but we aren't looking at our snowiest winter ever.

Well, I already admitted to being wrong about how I thought this winter would be below normal snow but remembering back in November I did have the idea....the thought that storms and snowfall would be suppressed to our south. Ends up happening in March. but the snowfall totals almost strengthen my thoughts from back then.

Yup, Philly area has been the spotlight for sure. Put it this way.. There's only a handful of other locations in the U.S that have a bigger departure than PHL.

I started a season snow total thread that I'm updating for all areas. Also keep in mind Philly's records go back to late 1800s so being 2nd snowiest is very impressive

Here's for our area so far..

BRIDGEPORT 56.3" which is +31.3" above normal (6th snowiest season since 1949)
HARTFORD 50.1" is +13.5" above normal
BOSTON 58.6" is +19.6" above normal

PHILADELPHIA 62.9" which is +41.8" above normal (2nd snowiest since 1885)
ISLIP 58.9" which is +36.1" above normal
NYC 57.4" which is +33.4" above normal

And here I am today walking outside saying "ITS COLD!" I've been watching the smoke from the wood stove blow south and southeast so many times this year. Just imagine a snowpack and 30s south of us right now. LOL Or the poor folks in SC in the 30s and rain right now.
