Umm. . . did this just come out of left field, or was I not paying attention yesterday? I watched the news yesterday morning, and I'm pretty sure the word "dusting" was used! LOL!

Theres always a chance but there's also a chance it goes farther out. And a chance precip dries up at the beginning which gives us less. I think some folks are ready to use the bust word. Lol

There might be thundersnow near coast which increases snowfall rates to 1-2" per hour rates.

surface Lifting and tight arctic gradient will enhance snowfalls. This storm is not for interior CT. Which has been the trend past few years.

Better data went into the models last night because the energy came into the U.S so they all saw it was more then we and they thought before.

Case in point, we see these potentials 2 weeks before but the details aren't known until a few hours or a day before.

I ducked out yesterday and now who nelly measurable snow! I could use some snow to perk me up. Joe Fury just updated on 1080 to say winter storm watch probably will become statewide and broad forecast of 4-7"

Jeez, where on earth did all this come from?

Think Wednesday AM commute will be okay at this rate? Important things happening here Wednesday, so I'm less concerned with tomorrow.

So, is this going to be an all day heavy type instant sticking snows or is it one of those late afternoon quick bursts that make the parkways a mess type storms?
Would be ideal of course if waits until I get home but that's not going to happen, huh?

Temps drop after midnight tonight so we should expect teens tomorrow. That to me reminds me of that 1-2" event that caused a mess on the roads because of instant sticking and salt not working.

It's not a Get bread and water type snow, its more a Get home and be safe type.

Early school dismissal likely. But again... North of I-84 you might be laughing at this storm. Don't be surprised if you get only 1-3"

I pieced together a few NWS office Snow total forecast. NWS Binghamton didn't update yet. Looks like Upton more bullish then Boston for southern zones.

Couple of Forecasts out there. TWC looks most conservative with just 3-5 near the coast.
