What's with that real anomolous 43 at Provincetown, MA on that map Cambium (no one else for hundreds of miles are even above freezing.....) I wonder if it's instrument error......when we were in 50s a week or two ago one day Central Park suddenly showed 72 when everyone else was under 60 and the "corrected" it to 56 in the records....

Oh and while I realize it's going to be a more significant snow/ice storm in the South, The Weather Channel named this one too.....

Yeah, GFS is stronger than Euro. GFS did well with this non sn ow event tonight. But I need to talk about the possible Ice event for Monday evening. Thats before the rain on Wednesday. Both GFS and Euro showing the layer above warming up but surface staying at or below freezing which means ICE Monday. I'll wait till tomorrow to mention it.

I've counted 4 spikes in the past 12 months I've personally witnessed and seen. I know there's quality control data goes through before it goes permanetly into the books but I havent gone back and checked if those spikes were actually fixed or removed or ignored. It's a delicate matter because if its not fixed it will balloon temperature averages from reality. Some use it in their global warming debates but others claim it gets fixed and doesnt happen enough to notice a difference. Who the heck knows.

That 43 on the map is from an automatic station (unmanned) but it looks like there was a malfunction. Im sure they'll fix it. National Weather Service : Observed Weather for past 3 Days : Provincetown Automatic Weather Observing/Reporting

Funny you mention that. I just posted this video of a truck spinning out of control because of the ice there. Not enough for power outages but this is what thin ice can do! Worried about this for Monday

Video.

Particles are falling so fine and actually shining like crystals. Wow. Not to mention the moon is visible. How strange is that?

The snow was blowing on the road like dust when it first started. I first noticed the "crystals" on the hood of my car before I realized it was even snowing. I'm not sure what it's like out now, but last I checked it was still snowing.
