I have to say, I was uptown today during lunch & there were a ton of people in the area, the Scullery looked packed. It's good to see things starting to turn around down there.

Only a couple of years ago I use to walk down there for lunch at the Armadillo Grill & there was no one around, I mean no one.

Granted, part of the it was due to ECU being back, but it's encouraging to see. I can only imagine the difference it's going to make when that student complex opens, the Registrar's Office gets in the area & the brewery gets established & open for business. It's a slow process but I give it a few more years & it will be a nice little area again.

I am really surprised that none of the partners involved in The Boundary put up a camera of some kind. The source of the pictures that I am posting is not connected with it.

There is a sign at Tripp's Restaurant---Kickback Jack's Sports Bar coming soon. I looked a their menu & it seems that it will be a lot like Carolina Ale House. I am sure that it will be geared to the College crowd.

Battleground Restaurant Group

It's another concept by the same restaurant group. I really hope the service improves with this, Tripp's used to be so great.

It is interesting you say this, we went to Tripp's twice when they first opened & didn't care for it. Plus there was a lot of dust on everything. I wonder why they are changing formats within the same Company?

I think I went to Tripps twice the entire time it was open. Both times I was not wowed enough to want to go back. I felt like I could get the same food cheaper elsewhere in town.

The Kickback Jack's format should work in this town with all the college kids. I guess their competition would be Ale House, Hooters, O'Cools, Fitgeralds (kind of) and umm...am I missing anyone? I'm more likely to go here that I ever was Tripps. I've always felt that Hooter's is in a terrible location in this town. They should really be uptown.

Also - I have heard rumors of some big name concert coming to Dowdy-Ficklin in 2015. Anyone heard anything about this?
