Richard, did you know you're talking to someone who knows Mormonism inside and out? I am a Mormon.
Yea, i knew you Mormon by your talk...I happen to be a decendant of Brigham Young...He is listed on our old family tree document...that my grandfather Lester Young had...I know all about Mormonism...
Funny, I couldn't tell by your talk. I hate to break it to you, but being a descendent of Brigham Young really doesn't qualify you as an expert on Mormonism. I'm a descendent of a long line of Catholics and Lutherans, but I'll leave the explanations of Catholicism and Lutheranism to members of those churches. You might think you know a great deal about the religion, but you have already demonstrated that this is not the case. For starters, no Latter-day Saint alive calls the Book of Mormon his Bible. And since we use both books, it is extremely misleading for other people when someone makes the mistake of doing so. It leads people to think that we have substituted the Book of Mormon for the Bible, which definitely is not the case. That said, we're a long way off topic and should probably call this discussion quits.

Just to say that I personally don't mind where this thread goes -- it was originally started by me almost 2 years ago and I do not need it to be about the thread topic......... carry on or not, just as you please
Richard, please excuse me for saying this, but you don't know what you are talking about. You are referring to the "Book of Mormon" and calling it the "Mormon Bible." Since Mormons also use the King James Version of the Holy Bible and refer to it as "the Bible," perhaps you should, too. Just for the sake of accuracy, you know, in the unlikely event that accuracy matters to you.
Hi Kat, I was speaking of what you call the book of Mormon.
That book and the one Richard pointed out have a lot of simalrities on how they came to be.
I meant no disrespect to the Mormons, I could not care less what branch of religion people come from.

The foundation of The Mormon religion is built up around the translations of the Golden Plates from the Hill Comorah near Palmyra, NY by Joseph Smith which is the Book Of Mormon...Just as the Christian religion is built up around the Holy Bible...I have done an in depth study of Mormonism...and please, after i die, i prefer that a Mormon not stand in for me to be baptized into Mormonism...
