So every suburb will need its own court and prison system? Aren't there something like 300+ suburbs in Cook county? If anything there should be consolidation of governments, not fragmentation. We've already got like a bazillion school districts, often multiple districts per municipality, and many districts have only one school. Talk about bureaucratic overhead!

My suggestion would only apply if all of the suburbs in Cook County left it and joined other counties or had a separate county created for them. That is where a city-county government would come into place for Chicago.

But how does EVERY OTHER county in Illinois run these services without assessing a county sales tax?

Here is another beauty. This is my favorite part:

If the proposal gains traction in the Legislature this spring, it would help offset the impact on low wage earners of the 67-percent increase in the individual income-tax rate that took effect in January....But her plan would shift additional costs onto Illinois businesses that just absorbed a 46 percent hike in corporate income taxes and give job-poaching GOP governors from outside Illinois another argument to convince businesses to relocate to their states.

Awesome.

Minimum wage would go to $10 under Senate bill - Naperville Sun

The nimrods that support heavy taxes on businesses and a high minimum wage just don't get it.

It already takes an hour just to get coffee at Starbucks, Panera or anywhere else. There are five fewer people than are needed, often enough just one person busting balls to do everything at once.

I can't imagine how much worse it could be.

Tax and spend! Tax more and spend more!

"Just weeks after winning an income tax increase to help stabilize the state's troubled finances, Gov. Pat Quinn today unveiled a $52.7 billion state budget that spends $1.7 billion more than last year"

Chicago Tribune: Chicago news, sports, weather and traffic - chicagotribune.com

Impeach this fool too.

Me either. I was just rubbing salt in the wounds of the morons who voted for Quinn.
