If you really want to see something to see Andy Griffith's range, check out these three rare productions. One, he is a patriarch of a family of swindlers on Hawaii Five O. Then there's a movie where he's motorcycling with Robert Reeds and William Shatner and is a real heavy. Then lastly he's a junkyard owner who builds his own rocket to go to the moon. Priceless.
Good point about his range of talent. And as I moved through the thread from here, I saw that "Football" and A Face in the Crowd received several mentions. A Face in the Crowd in particular showed a fine acting talent. Andy managed to make the Lonesome Rhodes character both despicable and pathetic in a way that actually stirred some sympathy. What a great and versatile talent.
Andy Griffith only passed away a few hours ago -- but TMZ has learned, the Hollywood icon has already been buried.
A rep for Twiford Funeral Homes in Manteo, North Carolina tells us, Andy was buried at 11:30 AM on his family farm on Roanoke Island. We're told Andy had previously requested to be buried immediately after his death ... so that's why it all happened so fast.
R I P Andy Griffith
Since the location is not known, his family won't have to worry about his grave becoming a tourist attraction. To me it seems to fit who he seemed to be, a dignified private man.
Andy Griffith buried on his farm only 4.5 hours after passing
I love this and wish more people would open up their minds to modern burial etiquette and methods.
Andy Griffith obviously wasn't embalmed and "his body was lowered into a grave" on his family farm within hours of passing. I've been researching natural burial and how it is still popular in many regions and countries, including Europe.
