Maybe because of overzealous testing. If someone isn't sick/symptomatic what does it matter?

The people who catch it from someone with no symptoms can get sick. That includes staff.

Hopefully at some future point, there will not be a need for a monkey pox posting thread,........

I am sort of all talked out on COVID.......so, I have been for the most part, passing on reading the postings on the subject and posting any responses

And that’s what vaccination is for; so they don’t get really sick or sick at all.

It doesn't work that well, and there's lying by omission on range of symptoms that fall short of hospitalization. It can be quite unpleasant. Tell me why a camp counselor would take much of a risk of that while being paid poorly?

But the camp demographic (kids and their 20 something counselors) are more likely to get sick and long term injured from the vaccine than from Covid and most Covid is either asymptomatic or a few sniffles for 6-30 year olds. Send them to camp and let it rip! They will be healthier doing athletic activities at camp even if they get Covid than sitting at home all summer playing Fortnite. Here in Idaho, no one even talks about Covid. Life is fully at 2019 normals. Only rule is, if you're sick, stay home. If you're asymptomatic, carry on as normal. And, no people aren't dropping dead like flies anymore than CA and crime rate is much, much lower too.

Their risk isn’t any worse than tens of millions other workers out there, maybe even less so considering how much time they spend outside.

I envy places that have returned to normal and aren’t full of a bunch of Covid hypochondriacs like here.

Wrong. They live like families, except the quarters are smaller and more packed and ventilation probably primitive. If one camper gets infected, everyone else in the unit likely will. Only exception is maybe if an infection is detected very early and there's a special cabin for the infected.

Also, if infection is continuously moving through camp, what happens if some people are contagious and it's time to leave? Bring it home to families? Great way to not have repeat business. Get on a long-distance bus or plane trip while infected? That's highly unethical.

Short answer: camps need to be careful about the virus.
