There's no bumps in the talks with JGR. Until they have a sponsor signed, or a sponsor dependent on Kyle being the driver, there's nothing to say.

The bumps are more probably with everyone asking Kyle the question every time he turns around. I can see that being annoying.. And we know how well he handles being annoyed.
Hahaha...
As I posted in a previous post it appears Almirola has an incredible amount of input on who drives for Smithfield.

Jayski has this today. https://www.jayski.com/2022/07/20/jo...s-2023-status/

"Contingency Planning" would most likely be what I mentioned previously. Interstate keeping their 6 races or so, perhaps adding a few. Plugging in some one-offs.. And whatever else is left over.. Sponsored by Toyota.

Seems the technology sponsor has fallen through. I'd guess that happened around the time they brought JTG's sponsorship arm on board.

Ive read that release about 3 times already today. It reads similar to what HEndrick did for Larson, but heres something I Just thought of, did Truex ever say if he was coming back next year?

He’s back.

Plus, I can’t imagine Bass Pro and KB.

I would have to assume BPS isnt his only sponsor, since Interstate was on the car last weekend. If Truex was leaving, those part time sponsors could fill in Kyles ride IF and only IF Gibbs shuts down the 19. But also remember some sponsors dont sponsor the car, they sponsor the whole team.

In other news.. I had seen the Chicago Street Course was a go.. I didn't realize it came at the expense of Road America.

That kinda sucks.

NASCAR is considering adding mufflers for the Chicago street race.

I disagree, it seems like Toyota feels the road is bumpy, considering they said "We are in a bad place right now".

JGR tried to sign Oracle, but Oracle changed their mind and went with the Red Bull F1 team for a 5 year $300M contract.

Time is running out to get something done, since JGR typically does this stuff in the beginning of the year with their drivers.

Kyle may have to take a reduced salary to stay with JGR for one more season. That would smooth things out a bit and give Kyle more opportunities to sign with several other major teams that will be looking for a driver after 2023.

Will it all fall into place? I think something will get worked out. JGR really wants to KB to retire when he's ready as a JGR driver. Until that road smooths out, buckle up if you are a KB fan.

I'm speaking of the contract talks with JGR. There's no bumps there because there's no talks.

There's nothing to talk about until they have a sponsor.

I wouldn't consider the talks that aren't happening as bumpy..

The overall process? Getting a sponsor? Is that bumpy? Oh hell yeah.
