Hamlin/Jordon poach Tyler Reddick to 23xi in 2024.
Havent seen if they go to a 3 car team or....
Wont be surprised to see Richard make different plans for 2023.

Yeah, this was a shocker.

I have to imagine they're saying next year will be Kurt's retirement tour.

and the RCR press release.. "although timing of this announcement could not be any worse"

WTF? Just RC being pissed that he lost Reddick, who he dumped Hemrick for after a year?

seems bizarre /low to announce it. Doesn't exactly make for a great team atmosphere for the next year and a half.

Three car team. Sponsorship for Reddick to be found. Wallace has plenty, so they'll find something to run Reddick

2023 going to be a weird year for Reddick. Running a Chevrolet; going to a Toyota in 2024.

Personally, i am not a fan of people who quit for a 'better job'. My view, but prolly it is a lot different in the racing world, is don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out. I'd park the car before i'd let Reddick run it another foot.

But there are sponsors, deals, contracts and commitments involved.

Still, i can see RCR finding a new shoe ASAP and kicking Reddick to the curb for 2023.

But also , as I understand it , Reddick waited to have a 2023 deal locked up with Childress then went right out and signed with Hamlin for 2024.

Agree 100% and there are a good number of quality drivers going to be looking for a seat with no where to go, just coming out of Jr motor sports alone.

Dale Jr has been hinting hard about starting a Cup team. He seems to be waiting until a new TV deal is in place which will have a major affect on the cost of the charters.

But with so many good drivers that will leave his Xfinity team soon, maybe he can put together something quicker.

Not the first time this has happened.

I thought it was Harvick, but it wasn't..

SOMEONE else did this relatively recently (past 10 years)

Not Harvick, not Bowyer who was the 1 year stop at HScott due to MWR closing down.

But certainly not a situation where they signed a new 1 year deal then announced after that they were moving.

Was it Carl Edwards? I know he had just resigned with Gibbs, shot a few promos then up and annouinced retirement.
