That's not what he said. He said the 5 dozen flat of eggs has gone up $4 in price. Meaning the price for the flat is up $4, and not meaning that cage free eggs compared to regular eggs are $4 more in price, especially since, apparently, no regular eggs are available in Washington. Only cage free eggs can be sold and their price has gone up sharply..

5 dozen medium eggs were 10.69 at Winco, yesterday.

I was not going to pay that. Went to Grocery Outlet today and the 5 dozen medium eggs were 12.69!!!

That is over 21 cents per egg!!!

Mad and getter madder by the minute at the state government.

The worst part being retired is ALL these increases in Washington state prices are NOT reflected in the national inflation statistics. So the social security inflation increases do not even come close to covering the increased cost of heat, fuel, and food in Washington state.

I was going to start fishing for carp to supplement my food, but the state of Washington health advisory shows ONLY ONE meal of CARP allowed per month for fish caught in the Okanogan River.

I guess they are really serious about having the middle class eat bugs in the near future

I love how conservatives are so obsessed with eating bugs now, it's so cute.

It was bad, lots of back yard chickens lost.

But costs overall are bad for all groceries & household goods. My wallet truly has noticed the difference over the past couple of months when I go to town to get groceries, prescription drugs & miscellaneous.

I WISH there was a WinCo near me.

$10.69... so, $2.13 for a dozen eggs? That seems okay to me. That's a lot less than what I paid last week in East Tennessee when I was grocery shopping with my family at Christmas. I did also see a roadside farm stand advertising $2.00/dozen (I remembered it because it seemed pretty cheap, especially for a family farm).

And, I might be wrong, but I don't think Jay Inslee has anything to do with Tennessee... does he?

Way too sensible a post! We'd rather fight about Safeway's morally bankrupt but dirt cheap eggs vs. certified humane and cruelty-free GMO-free, enviro-friendly, blessed-by-the-tooth-fairy eggs. The only problem is, that according to one poster's report, Costco is selling morally and environmentally-superior eggs at Safeway prices or less.

So..now what?

That would explain why we couldn't find any eggs that weren't $6+ a dozen yesterday.

I see. ....I think. It's illegal to sell inhumane eggs in WA? Really?

OP? Is that true?

I hear you.

But remember, a vote for more government is never a good thing. This is the kind of outcome that often occurs.
