we don't have a clue how many have been infected, we (USA) only tests < 5% and our test results are very delayed compared to other countries. (some to 14 days (USA), vs 10 min at the airport boarding gate in some foreign countries)

only 22% of those tested in UK had symptoms (asymptomatic spreaders)

Deaths?, are significantly under-counted, (but approaching 3x the Vietnam war USA casualty toll for 14 yrs of conflict, vs 5 months of Covid)

None of this was necessary, we (USA) had a head-start on information.

I'm doing pretty well, thanks. I'm not opposed to something like Yang's UBI though as we lose jobs going forward to automation and AI. I suspect the AI is further out than we think, but we'll have to adapt to a different funding model at some point.

I couldn't tell you the last time I ate inside a McDonalds. Did you use the play structure?
I'm sure you heard of some people in the medical/ physician field that are anti-vaccine and persecuted and censored for it. Here's one:
https://www.latimes.com/california/s...itics-and-fans
They include the same who say everyone wearing masks is overkill.

UBI would work the same way years ago as it will now or in the future. Industries evolve are born or disappear but are always there. Companies make luxury cars because ppl like them, not need them. People will pay more for a human body massage, not a robot massaging them. Organic farms same thing. On the flip side fast food could become faster but may need more mechanically inclined employees. Taxis are almost obsolete but theres new industries coming up like meal kit delivery or 3d printing, ai healthcare, influencers, antifa provoker, marijuana stores, etc. People will always need entertainment and food, cleaning service.

I got to sit down at a clean socially distanced table with a television. Better than sitting in a hot car. Same price as the drive thru.

Anyone who tests without symptoms is a mental wreck. The tests aren't even good if they flag positive for people who havent and never will have symptoms.

COVID-19 may be most contagious one to two days before symptoms appear
More than 4 in 10 coronavirus cases are spread by those not obviously sick
, a study suggests
https://www.sciencenews.org/article/...ymptoms-appear

How long are you infectious?
The “infectious period” means the time you’re able to spread the virus to someone else.

For COVID-19, there is emerging evidence to suggest the infectious period may start 1 to 3 days before you develop symptoms.

The most infectious period is thought to be 1 to 3 days before symptoms start, and in the first 7 days after symptoms begin. But some people may remain infectious for longer.

These studies are a dime a dozen. I read it and it doesn't conclusively prove much at all. Other flues are similar, the virus has to start from somewhere and grows until symptoms appear (if immunity doesnt stop it). The only difference is that media blows these weak studies all over while censoring studies that suggests otherwise.

It's very odd that I hear the same mantra over and over - wash hands, mask up, distance. But no experts are telling us how to become more healthy. I guess healthy people arent the market to sell a vaccine to.

So...let's say the government mandated helmets for motorcycle wearers. And a certain segment of the population thought that was government overreach and an infringement on their freedoms. Would telling motorcycle riders how to be "more healthy" in lieu of wearing a helmet make a difference?

Helmet has nothing to do with immunity. That's a very bad example to compare with viruses.

It is a government mandate to keep people safe from harm. If one has no response, one can just say that.
