What I see this song, and that Bible verse, hinting at is self awareness.
I went to Jerusalem one time and went out at night and was amazed at all the lights, I came upon a beautiful woman who must have been quite a sight in her early 20,'s. She was sitting on a wooden chair wearing a red skirt , she was there watching the tourists and spoke to me in Arab standing up inviting with her hand gesture into her abode, I went in and she began dancing and I asked a man what she had said to me, and he said," Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant, here is the song she danced to.

Hannie, I was once in this country were it felt like they turned back time. This woman came out of the sun in a silk dress running.

That must have been awesome, you cant beat the lyrics and the mystery of it, just perfect.

Its like a lot of songs simply were and somebody happened to sing them, ever get that feeling?

Year of the cat.
On a morning from a Bogart movie
In a country where they turn back time
You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre
Contemplating a crime
She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running
Like a watercolor in the rain
Don't bother asking for explanations
She'll just tell you that she came
In the year of the cat
