Agreed. There is NOTHING He can't do. Including create via evolution and use figurative language in the Bible where He saw fit to do so.
Jeff, of course, He could have done it that way. But the point I think Alpha and I are trying to make is that certain scriptures are incompatible with that happening.
If you believe that there is nothing that God can't do, then why is Jeff's explanation in-plausible? Isn't there even a possibility that Jeff might be right?
I think this is where literal interpretations of the bible break down in my mind.
Nope, I don't think so. To allow evolution and it's timeframe (millions/billions of years) you'd have to really twist the bible to fit. The Bible is God's word because God said it is. God does not lie. If God does not lie, the geneologies in Genesis are accurate and correct. Following the geneologies in Genesis, there is no room and no way possible to allow for the evolutionary timeframe.
Jesus also taught in the New Testiment that in the beginning was man and woman -- not sometime after all these things occurred did they arrive on the scene, but at the beginning. This tells me Jesus, who was there at the beginning, taught a literal Genesis/Adam & Eve. So if you twist God's word to allow for evolution in Genesis, you'll be twisting Jesus' words, too.

I disagree that just because things may have happened differently = God lies. Especially since I believe that the bible was written by men inspired by God.
Wow, that Dinosaurs show is old. I had forgotten about it. What about Fraggle Rock?
