Has anyone looked at Turtle Cove? I was just looking there website for Myrtle Beach looks nice but I was wondering if anyone has seen in person? Are the houses very close to each other? I know not all plots have been bought.
@mkaz01..... I second that emotion!!! We put a good amount of upgrades in and the price is still unbelievably affordable! We are coming from a rural area in NW NJ where everyone on our street had 1 to over two acres. It was very peaceful. However, looking at Lafayette Park's layout and neighbor proximity reminds us of the neighborhoods my husband and I grew up in and we are looking forward to that.
I bought a Market Common Dock Street home off plan a few years ago, before the prices came down!
We love the area and we have fantastic neighbors - very pleased with moving here. I have to echo the build quality concerns though.
During construction they made some significant changes to the plan without telling us, that were an unpleasant surprise when we came to move in. Apparently they 'reserve the right' to do this. Our water pipes burst under the house causing major flooding (they paid for the repairs as it was still under warranty) and our aircon in the attic malfunctioned, which meant that water overflowed into the ceiling of our spare bedroom, which had to be cut out and replaced (we paid for the repairs as we were just outside of the warranty). The stair railings have come lose and are a hazard that we need to fix, our hard wood floors are warping in a few places and the unfinished garage was quite insulting when we paid $320k for a 1700 sq ft townhome and could have been fixed up for under $1,000 but they refused to do so when asked. The toilets block very easily and frequently and the general finishings are as cheap as they can find.
It also took us a year of emailing, meetings with city council and eventual threat to move to litigation to have the communal landscaped areas repaired when something killed off the trees and grass and we thus lived in an area that looked like the somme. This is because not enough homes have yet been sold and so the homeowners dont actually get any say in the homeowners association that continues to collect fees but remains controlled in its entirety by the developer until more homes are sold. It has been a very trying experience dealing with Dockstreet and their representatives to say the least!

I don't know if your still interested but these homes are near me I'll try to check it out soon and post some pictures. You want to know closeness and how they are set in there.
I'll have to check. I do know the forestbrook road area is very nice and a good location. Between 544 and 501. Not all that far from the beach too.
I believe Turtle Cove only has 3-4 lots left.... I know the agent there, he was at Cameron Village before just being moved to Turtle Cove....
I noticed Youtube has a lot of videos of the area in Turtle Cove. Actually, a resale is never a bad idea.
I have bought resale homes my whole life. I love the home I am in now on the water. Why so many want "brand" new is beyond my vision. There are so many gorgeous homes for sale now in our area.

Thank you so much, unfortunately we can't move down for a a few more years (waiting and saving for kids to finish NY schools). When I was reading this forum and finding out about new areas this area looks great for us and our future move.
Any movement in new developments in the Market common area? I really like the area, but I'm waiting for something a little more affordable to show up.
