Planting? My tomato plants are still growing

I was in SW Minnesota this afternoon for work. It was a glorious 75 degrees! It felt hot outside- not that I'm complaining.

You guys ready? Heavy snowstorm for Western and northern MN Friday. Heads up on commute.

If the storm changes track and positionin over MN then so will the heavy snow areas.

Yeah, should be interesting to see. Winds should pick up with the storm but whether it meets blizzard criteria remains to be seen. Plus we're not sure exactly where yet.

NWS defines a blizzard as a storm which contains large amounts of snow OR blowing snow, with winds in excess of 35 mph and visibilities of less than 1/4 mile for at least 3 hours.

Our fine weather people say it will miss the metro - just rain/snow mix, but no blizzard or heavy snow. Now where are my boots and other stuff

Yeah, Minneapolis is not in a good spot. All you'll get is rain then possibly changing to snow once the storm is further north and cold air comes in. But light stuff maybe mixed if during the day.

It's about 70-100 miles West and North of you that should get the heavy snows. We'll see. Storms can wobble and change tracks even day of, that's why forecasts change and can be wrong. Just stay on top of it. But again, Minneapolis shouldn't see heavy disruptive snows with this one.

Not sure what you mean by mets. Oh - meteorologists? I haven't paid much attention - once I hear the metro won't get hit I'm outside chasing leaves across my yard. I must say that I'm actually happy when I look out the window and see that first white blanket - it means no more dang leaf raking (lots of trees here).
