Sounds like the Idaho police are gonna be needing some Hannibal Lecter style masks.

Prayer vigils planned for imprisoned Boise pastor

Prayer vigils planned for imprisoned Boise pastor

BOISE -- It's been two years to the day since Pastor Saeed Abedini of Boise was imprisoned in Iran.

But his supporters in Idaho and across the world are determined to show he is not forgotten.

Vigils for Abedini will be held in more than 400 cities and 30 countries Friday.

The local vigil will begin at noon at the New Hope Church of the Nazerene, located at 8585 West Overland Road. Attendees plan to pray for Abedini's release.

Supporters will gather again at the State Capitol at 6 p.m.

The pastor is being held in an Iranian prison for what the Iranian government says is a threat to national security.

Here's good news from Boundary County: A new fish hatchery!

Kootenai Tribe celebrates hatchery

Quote:
BONNERS FERRY — Endangered Kootenai River white sturgeon and burbot got a helping hand Thursday with the opening of the Twin Rivers Hatchery.
Taking part in the opening celebration were Kootenai Tribe of Idaho Chairman Gary Aitken Jr., Boundary County commissioners, Idaho Sens. Mike Crapo and Jim Risch, Bonneville Power Administration deputy administrator Greg Delwiche and a multitude of representatives from tribes, agencies and groups in Idaho, Montana, Canada and beyond.
The new hatchery facility will raise both the endangered Kootenai River white sturgeon and burbot, which have been functionally extirpated from the river system, Aitken said.
In case you're wondering where exactly Twin Rivers is,

Quote:
Twin Rivers sits at the confluence of the Kootenai and Moyie rivers, in the canyon below Moyie Springs.

Oh, FFS. (slapping head). Yep...this is Priest River. And yeah...they don't have any substitute teachers. They basically pull anyone in on off the streets. And I'm not kidding about that.

CdA chapel sues city in fight against same-sex weddings - Spokesman.com - Oct. 18, 2014

So, in a battle between a city anti-discrimination ordinance and ordained ministers' First Amendment rights to practice their faith, who wins?

Tacky name for a so called religious wedding chapel. "The Hitching Post " really? I would like to see a report somewhere of how long the marriages last that are performed there.

Are these owners filing the lawsuit just to do it and cause controversy or has a gay or lesbian couple asked to be married there?

On Friday they were asked by a same sex couple to perform a ceremony and declined, citing their religious beliefs. Knowing the CDA city code, they proactively sued the city on 1st and 14th amendment grounds (otherwise they're facing jail time and huge fines). So we will have to wait and see where this one goes in the federal court system.
