wow guess you've been right about the direction Boise has been headed. Not sure how many towns in Idaho would have been in agreement, but they sure would not have here.

The cancellation has hundreds of supportive comments from the community on various social media outlets.
Zimmerman shot and killed a 17 year old. Boise is still healing from the mall shootings last week and will be for some time.

Boise is a caring and compassionate city as evidenced by the city support last week over the mall shootings.
The Riverside Hotel did the right thing.

This city is among the safest cities in the nation and these types of conference events shouldn't be tolerated. Boise is also one of the most level headed cities in Idaho, if not the most level headed city. There's a reason why people here love their city and are civic minded.

Idaho’s lax guns laws send a message to guys like the Boise shooter: Welcome to Idaho

Quote:
The Giffords Law Center gives Idaho an “F” for its combination of lax gun laws and higher rate of gun deaths, and ranks Idaho 48th out of 50 states for gun-law strength, based on analysis of 55 policies, Anderman said.

“Idaho has some of the weakest gun laws in the country, and took action to expand its dangerous permitless carry law in 2020,” according to the Giffords Law Center. “To save lives from gun violence, lawmakers should require background checks on all firearm purchases and enact an extreme risk protection order law to allow for the temporary removal of firearms from individuals in crisis.”

That's right, welcome to Idaho where the US constitution still means something.

Yeah hold your breath and let's hope it stays that way. Just because some nut job comes out of the woodwork and shoots some people, as they've been doing for years now, doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the right to bear arms as our Constitution has allowed us from the start. I remember when I lived in Salt Lake City there was a nut job foreigner that shot up Trolly Square killing folks and messing up stores all because he had some mental issues. Like you're going to be psychic and know when they are out there. That's NO reason to change our way of life and laws that have rightfully been in place from the beginning of the founding of this country.

Then there is the wide freaking open border issue that is like inviting someone over with the flu to visit your home. NOT! Talk about breaking every law on the books. NO vetting, NO inoculations or checking for diseases including COVID. Steal the citizens funds to pay for their food, lodging and medical care!! Is this administration on bad drugs or WHAT! And don't get me started on how in the world they think it works to steal more of our tax dollars to pay for that debacle that occurred at the border with parents and children being separated. They have NO right to be here in the first place. Who forgot about THAT!!

Idaho and several other states need to focus more on mental health care than it does for stripping us of our God given rights.

Well, my bet is those hundreds of supportive comments come from people who think Zimmerman is white, lol

Boise is the Norway of the West. It partially owes its safety record to the homogenous demographic. And because it's apparently racist in this country to have adult conversations about cultural background and its potential impact on communication - NOT a simple-minded obsession with skin color - there's no reason to expect Boise will escape the breakdown witnessed in West Coast metro's, or any US metro for that matter.

The comments I referred to were supporting the hotel, not him. Do you think Zimmerman is white, lol?

That's what I meant. Comments supporting the hotel's decision due to affiliation with Zimmerman.
