Let's see how this plays out. Huge opportunity to prove whether cronyism and protectionism or accountability play out. This absolutely disgusts me, and there should be a special place in hell for "servants" like Ron Crane.

Crane has been in trouble for a long time now. I remember all the hubub over the exorbitant taxpayer's money he was caught spending for NYC limos and parties he was spending in 2012, and thought that would be the end of him then. .

But if the charges his former investment advisers are true, all that was nothing but a drop in the bucket compared to how much he has really cost us in wasted tax money.

We'll see, I guess. Now that it's going to court, it's all going to come out, one way or another. that's what happens when everything becomes part of the public record. Since Crane has 2 years left in his present term, I doubt impeachment proceedings will happen unless he's found guilty of criminal malfeasance; it's been a very long time since any state official was impeached, and Crane has been a fixture in politics since the 80s, when he first won a seat as state representative.

A win for liberty but a loss for all Idaho tax payers.

I think the only way to stop our representative's nonsense like this is to garner their wages to cover the penalties first. And then, force the taxpayers to cover what they cannot.

Once they have to start paying for their lunacy out of their pockets first, they'll quit it soon enough. Our legal bills have amounted to millions of dollars spent irresponsibly almost every year in needless legal defense for a decade now.

What makes it all even worse is Larry Wasden, who's as conservative as they come and a good Constitutional lawyer, is ignored every time he warns the Legislature when they are determined to pass another bill that will be overturned as soon as it reaches a Federal court. His advice as State Attorney General doesn't cost us, or them, a dime extra, but too many of our officials prefer to hire outside legals who will agree with them even when they're completely wrong. On our dime. Lots and lots of our dimes.

Mike, we mostly agree on this one. In this case, the legislature was only part of the problem, though. The powerful industrial agriculture lobby is also to blame. They pulled the strings of the puppets in the legislature to protect their own interests at the expense of Idahoans. Shame on the legislature for abusing and perverting their responsibility to protect the rights of Idahoans. But they share the blame with the folks who pushed for this.

Last September, when he was looking at the fire-gutted remains of the Boise International Market, Salam Bunyan, owner of the restaurant, The Goodness Place, was devastated.
Quote:
His restaurant serves traditional Arabic food that meets Halal standards.

Quote:
Bunyan is set to open The Goodness Land at its new location on 6555 Overland Road noon Saturday.

Quote:
Over the past several months Bunyan said he received emails, calls and has even been stopped on the street by people wishing him support. The experience left him feeling like the whole community of Boise had his back, he said.

“The people in Idaho are amazing,” he said. “I want to say thank you (to the community) for supporting me.”

That is good info.

Does anyone here have any thoughts about Oppenheimer, the company who has done so much redevelopment in the Treasure Valley and now is building the tallest buildings in Boise?

Nice. The Twin Falls newspaper has done an ongoing,mone/month series about a refugee family. I find it very interesting. i hoped the AP would pick this series up and print, it's that good, IMO. Has anyone else seen or read it? The series started in about Nov. Or Dec., 2015. The family of 4× arrived in Twin Falls in October.

This series is worth the read, IMO. An in depth documentary, if you will, about one family becoming part of Idaho.

I was fascinated so many refuges work initially at a Casino in NV, but it makes sense. That allows a group to naturally gather as they take the bus to and from the Casino. There are many parts that open eyes for those who want to learn. If I can get the link's name I'll post it.

But I read another article about the case where they mentioned that the ringleader, John Howard, is a Texas high school troublemaker who had been deliberately shipped to Idaho recently because he was out of control at home, A bad "import." That's no excuse for the boys who chose to follow him, though.
