That is not even close to what I was looking for. But if that is correct and you can cite a reference regarding it, I will give it to you.

I found one website that show New York has or had "The Empire State" on its plate. http://www.xomba.com/america_s_50_st...s_and_pictures Maine appears to be missing.

http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...aqi=g1&start=0 It appears that Maine has had several slogans including "Vacationland".

Well, I knew of the cities of Buffalo, WY and Buffalo, NY... so I took a shot and Googled "Buffalo, ME". Sure enough, population 1.

My guess is, they all have a city called Buffalo.

Population 1? Give me a break....

I doubt that's it, because it's not unique to just those three states. Here's what I pulled up on City-Data:
Search results for "buffalo":

Those are all interesting tries. I was not sure what a "security freeze law" was, but I looked it up. That is an excellent way to protect one's credit. I may sign up for that. http://www.consumersunion.org/campai...3484indiv.html

Back to the question at hand... Here is a hint: What is the name of the small town North of Laramie, WY?

The original question still stands..

Maine, New York and Wyoming all have something in common that no other states share. What is it?
