Default wyoming trivia

I would like to butt in just a little and tell you all that I just love this thread. I have learned so much stuff about Wyoming! I started at the beginning and it's taken me several hours to reach page 60! I know I still have a long way to go; but it's all so interesting I don't mind. Thank you to ElkHunter for starting this, and to Wyoquilter, WyoNewk, ClaimJumper, jkb826, jdavid93225,CptnRn,Shawdow Walker, baadsheep, MRVphotog, jody_wy and wyolady for all the interesting questions, answers, and links that has taken me many enjoyable hours to read so far. I look forward to reading the rest of the pages, and to one day; hopefully soon, coming to Wyoming and seeing lots of these places.

Thank you for taking time to comment. There is so much to learn about Wyoming that it's unbelievable.

I've went through and reviewed the last several weeks and I'm going to have to put two people in the penalty box. They seem to be hogging all the answers. So for the next week, neither Poletop or ElkHunter can answer any trivia questions. Those two rowdy's seem to be taken up all the questions and answers.

As such, I'll turn the next question over to the first person that happens along. Ask away, whoever you are.

Hello Y'all, I have not been around for awhile but thought I might drop in and found this oppourtunity.

Q: "Who was the "Hottest amateur baseball team in the West" during their reign and what motivated them? "

Hint: in their 14-month heyday, between March 1911 and May 1912, they won 39 of their 45 games.

Pretty strong hints, Cptn.

The Wyoming State Penitentiary's All Stars ... were murderers and rapists, all of them sentenced to death. Back in 1911 in the US, death sentences were normally carried out within a few months, without the 10- or 20-year-long appeal process that is the norm now. The All Stars survived, for a while at least, thanks to a simple arrangement with their prison's baseball-obsessed warden, whose creation they were. Keep winning, Felix Alston made clear to his players, and he would ensure they received stays of execution.

Thank you Cptn.

The continental divide goes through Wyoming, dividing watershed to either the Pacific or Atlantic (Gulf of Mexico). There's a catch, however. Wyoming has millions of acres where water can drain to neither place. Where is it, what's it called and why can't it drain to either ocean?
