Who was the first Democratic Governor for the State of Wyoming, and what was odd about the shoes that he wore to his inaugural ball?

Post #526 already covered that one. You'll have to come up with a better one.

OK, here is a clue....Many mountain men and trappers enhabited this valley, but Beaver Dick was one of the last of the mountain man trappers who lived in the valley. William Dean "Bill" Menor arrived here in 1892 from Sheridan and built the Menor's ferry in 1909.

This town was home to the "the petticoat government". In the 1920's, residents begin hiking to the top of the mountain and skiing straight down on 10 foot wooden planks, using a single wood pole as a braking device.

1939: Snow King Resort opens as Wyoming’s first ski area with a tow rope installed by Neil Rafferty. His tow rope consisted of a 4,000 foot cable, powered by an old Ford tractor engine. Skiers were towed up the bottom half of Snow King by holding on to a stick that was attached to a rope that was clamped onto the cable with a wrench. Lift tickets cost $2.95 for a full day of skiing.

Good job WantWyoming!! You get to ask the next question>..
