It appears that many posters on the internet forums have no concept of the difference between "woman" and "women".
1 woman.
2 women.
What is so difficult?

You are correct, and there seems to be widespread confusion nowadays between singular and plural forms of many words.

I frequently see people writing things such as "That is an interesting phenomena", or, "What is the criteria?", or, "I am an alumni of XYZ University". Based on my observations, I think that distinguishing between singular and plural forms is becoming more and more confused by the year.

But, to get back to "woman vs women"...What about the people who refer to EVERY woman as a "lady"?
Traditionally, "lady" referred to a woman of noble breeding and impeccable manners, but nowadays most people seem to refer to every woman as a "lady"--including criminals and other women who are anything but...noble.
