Yah, well, child poem seems pretty harmless, all things considered. (I assume it's a typo, & what she meant was child porn - maybe her auto spellchecker couldn't believe she meant porn instead of poem?)

She also wrote, "child open," in addition to "child poem." So much for that whole, "Say what you mean" thing! I had to laugh at the whole post AND the fact that she believed what she was saying.

Yah, I saw that too. I assume that what we're looking @ here - & in a lot of these strange typos - is some kind of auto speller making suggestions to text it doesn't recognize. I'm more used to seeing this kind of thing complained about on smart-phones & similar - but if the person in the loop doesn't bother to look & make sure that that the suggestion is what he/she actually meant, & they just press SEND - well, we get what we get.

Spellcheckers are getting better, incrementally. & there are syntax checkers too - but you usually have to invoke those deliberately - they don't usually pop up by themselves & scan what you're writing - unless you set them up that way.

& of course, the whole notion of child porn is disturbing in & of itself. I'll grant you that babies typically grow up & have sexual lives, but I don't see any point to rushing the process. & the courts deal very severely with people convicted of those crimes - as well as - TMK - the ordinary inmates in stir.

On a nearby street, a tree was cut down and the pieces of the trunk were left in a pile with a sign:

Miniature poodle? They don't shed. Poodle-bison mix are also nice and don't shed.

OK, I'm all for the advancement of science, but these geneticists are going a little too far, IMO!

"Illegal immigrants" are now referred to as "migrants" and this is across the entire media. As if "migration" is a normal, inborn human activitity like what birds and caribou do. Calling them "migrants" whitewashes the fact that they are "migrating" (presenting as normal) into areas already occupied and where a different culture has evolved as opposed to INVADING (which is what they are really doing. Not even animals "migrate" into hostile areas where they know they don't belong.

Changing the vocabulary on a wholesale basis ("illegal immigrants" to "migrants") exposes the collusion within the media.

However, on a positive note, this allows more people to achieve that uniquely American ideal..."a home where the buffalo roam"!
