Let's not wish our lives away.

Looks like Fall won't really be starting until Saturday anyway.

This looks like it will be the coldest September I have experienced in my life right after the coldest August I have experienced in my life.

I'm jealous! What's this year's average for August and September compared to the actual average?

The provisional average maximum temperature for this September is 15°C / 59°F after a big drop in the final week. The previous coldest I have experienced was 15.9°Caverage high last year (also here ) but usually it's more like 16-17°C (still cold but better).

mod cut: quote removed

To compare Melbourne's September to Buxton's so far (considering that your September is equivalent to March in the NH).

2010:
Average low: ...... 9.3C / 49F
Average high: ..... 16.2C / 61F
Rain .................. 119mm on 15 days
Sunshine ........... 3.49 hours / day average
Highest temp ...... 20.4C / 69F
Days over 20C .... 2

Very similar. We are just much wetter and cloudier. With a frigid winter to look forward to.

After a month of lovely changeable weather - horrid, big, fat & ugly blocking high heading our way and doesn't look to be moving on in a hurry over the next week or so unfortunately .

Forecast over next 7 days - very depressing - how I hate hearing that word "sunny" (meaning no rain) being repeated endlessly

I'm surprised he's complaining given we've had weeks (actually make that months) of dull, below par weather!

I intend to get outside as much as possible over the next week and enjoy more than two consecutive sunny days!

Certainly will be a very nice time to stay indoors and catch up on those long awaited household chores

Seen more than enough of the sun - April and August as well as many months last decade (with 7 records set). It's been a great year this year with below average sun occurring more often than not. It all boils down to personal preferences. And Rwood - enjoy the rain as much as you can, I see Wellington's had 1340mm to end October - well done
