The Finnish ideal as well. Illegal to ask about ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation. Its origins goes also back to the famous year of 1789.
One reason about not collecting ethnicity is also historical. The nazis had an easy job to track all jews as they got their hands on ethnic census stats in occupied countries.
Sounds odd to me, to not ask. Though the US census doesn't ask about religon (used to a few decades in the early 20th century). So it's easier to find ancestries (which are done by survey rather than census) but not so easy to find official records of Jewish population. In many parts of the country, if the ancestry reported is Russia or Poland, it's likely they're Jewish.
Downloaded the 1930 census for New York State to see if there was religion data. Didn't see it in the document I found, but interestingly for New York City, 22% of the city's population was white, born in the US and had both parents born in the US.

I understand it's different in America where the whole population except Native Americans are immigrants. We have church records and birth certificates dating back to the reformation if you want to track your ancestry. But you know; liberty, equality and brotherhood don't really match with classifying people in certain groups.
Get it. It worked wonders on my difficult to handle Mediterranean beard. My skin feels as smooth as the hairless parts after using it. Best part is, no cuts or nicks! Comfortable to use everyday.

This is where we're more similar to the US - we have records for ethnicity and religion, I think sexual orientation too. I like having access to such data - I love statistics. Anything with a % sign basically. Although when applying for college years ago I thought it was pointless having to put my ethnicity down.
Oh, what model is it? I hate shaving and do it only every few days.
Here most people find these horrid:
I like them. The paint looks like a camouflage, how cool is that?
Failed (imho) attempt at being original:
Terrible, absolutely awful. I can't find the proper words. Looks like Caracas.
Failed, true.

Looks so out of place. Two highrises on a meadow? Looks exactly like many projects here, but those are double the height.

Disgusting. Like a South American slum. The second one doesn't even look like a apartment building but more like a brutalist school or something.

Utter boring and ugly, but the second ones look more inoffensive.
Drinking ice cold cider and citrus flavoured vodka premix drink on this warm evening after a hard day at work. Nothing beats it.
