Happy that the clear skies turned overcast. Love the stark winter landscape.

Happy that it is a warm rain day. 45mm so far with a dewpoint of 21-22C. Banana plants have grown a foot today. This summer has had perfect rainfall since early December, it hasn't been this green at this time of year for a wee while.

Banana plants? In Motueka? This surprises me since Motueka's climate is essentially a much wetter version of Christchurch and I can't imagine banana plants growing here. Don't you have avocados too?

Today's going to be a mostly sunny day, and if memory serves me right there has only been one of them since Christmas It looks like the worst of the gloom is over for another winter and we won't have any more sunless weeks with high pressure predicted to stick around.

There are a few bananas growing around Chch, it's mainly about preventing wind damage as sheltered plants shouldn't have much problem with frost. The climate here is less up and down than Chch, so there are less of the hot days and less of the cool days and no real southerly change. Avocados grow ok if the possums don't get them.

I can already sense a difference from later sunsets.
My mood is perking up.

Happy with today's weather. Few inches of snow this morning followed by a day of freezing rain and freezing drizzle. Currently "frizzling" with fog and temps around the freezing mark. Loving the forecast too. Bitter cold temperatures and possibly another snow storm at the end of the week.

You're not bother that's almost impossible to walk outside without slipping?

Oh, what a nice thing to write! I work until it's already dark, but I will trust you... I am so looking forward to Spring!

Happy that there is no snow in our forecast... but we still have colder than normal temps...
