That sun I mentioned didn't last long but it was more or less light today at 4.15pm and it's supposed to be 10C by the weekend. We haven't seen either of those for a month and a half so any improvement on 0-2C and gloom with pre-4pm sunsets feels like summer to me.

My area seems to have the opposite "problem". Teasing cloud cover, only to return to mostly sunny skies. Most days without any sunshine I've seen is probably 4-5 days.

I might have gone more than 10 sunless days if you include times it's been sunny but I've been indoors/asleep etc and haven't seen it but these last 10 days is the most I can remember. Our weather is usually too changeable to allow the same cloud to stay there this long. As far as I can remember the longest consecutive run of days with at least some rain was 40 in early 2002 when I lived up north where the climate is maybe only one step above Buxton.

"Home, home on the Thames....where seldom is heard, a discouraging word...and the skies are not cloudy all day"! Good for you!

Happy to have gone out to dinner and hang out with some friends tonight. Didn't realize how much I needed to get out of the house.

The forecast of 9°C / 48°F next week brought a silly smile on to my face , however it could well be down graded by then!

Right now it's evening and I just saw a real bright flash of lightning and a rumbling outside my window! I don't think I've ever seen a thundersnow close up like this before!

You don't alway want a front row seat for a thundershow... the rule is if you can hear it, your safe!

Happy that it is the weekend, but not happy that the temps will not climb out of the 30s for the next 5 or 6 days. We are below the average temps for our area... brrrrrrrr!
