It depends were you go. I bet florida would be easy to adapt to but alaska would be hard.

Depends on the person...Some people from "cool summer" or "dry climates" would have a HORRIBLE time adapting to Florida's heat/humidity in summer. Some people from mild winter climates have little trouble adapting to colder winters. Plus everyone gets excited when they see snow for the first time in their lives....Have you seen the face of an adult of an adult who has never seen snow experiencing it for the first time?

The temperature got down to 3F in February 1996, it was also windy, so I thought I was going to freeze to death. In my town, it went below zero in 1989, but I was kept inside.

-11F (-24C) in January 2009, this was at a campsite on Grandfather Mountain, NC. We stuck it out and somehow managed to keep all our fingers. The best part was building snow caves. We would have slept in them but the adults were worried about safety.

In the USA -35F / -37C South Central North Dakota

In Thule Greenland I believe it was about -70F/-57C When I was there very briefly in 1960. I did not actually experience it. I did not budge outside except to get from the plane to the molehill and then a few days later from the molehill to get back on the Plane and get the heck out of there.

Can't remember if I answered this thread already

In case I didn't:

Coldest low: approx -18°C in Isola 2000, France; in December of a year I can't remember
Coldest high: -10.0°C at Pian Rosa, Italy (3400m asl) on Feb 13, 2008. It was windless and sunny though, didn't feel cold at all. Felt much better than some wet and windy days in Paris.
