My God man, you still stuck on a ice age? Only 3 years will temps go way down world wide and that will be thanks to a world wide nuke war that is not far off. Once the 3 years are up the planet will super heat ever faster than dreamed of. No ice age for at least 2300 years.

A line of thunderstorms came through about 30 minutes ago, and it is still raining. 62F with a 60F dew point currently.

We probably have received about 1 inch+ at this point. It hadn’t rained here in about 4 or 5 days, so we needed it.

I'd have to go back and look at the stats, but our hottest and third hottest days ever occurred in June of 1990. We hit 50°C on 6/26 and 48.9°C on 6/25; and in July of 1995, we had our 2nd hottest day ever, 49.4°C on 7/28.

Edit: went and looked, 1914 we were below average the entire summer, and by a LOT in June. We had a hot June in 1990, and hot July and September in 1989, and a hot August in 1995.

And July of 1989 was our hottest ever for average high, 43.2°C; and third hottest ever for mean temp, at 36.3°C

For London...

1989 - one of the sunniest summers on record, June and August were warm, July was hot.

1995 - a cool and cloudy June, July was hot, August was the hottest, driest and sunniest on record.

1990 - cool and cloudy June, warm July, hot and dry August.

1914 - average temps, cloudy

Maybe 2019 will finally be the year where August records average sun hours?

Sunday June 2nd - Tuesday June 4th below normal airmass in the Northeast.

Upper Low & Trough will keep temps and humidity in check. 60s for max temps (50s in some areas). Dew points in the 30s and 40s.

Warms back up after that, but nothing hot (70s-low 80s north of Philly), then the Jet stream digs down again and sends cold Canadian air back down by next Friday.

This means the daily rain shower chances and cloudy pattern is back.

Just some anecdotal observations. We've had a change in the pattern of late Springs the past several years. Just looking at trees and shrubs blooming, they were a month ahead of schedule this year. I was used to seeing Rhododendrons and cherry trees blooming around Memorial Day, the early heat wave has them over by now. And last year I didn't see any lightning bugs until July, now I see them beginning to blink at night.
Not that its been a steady heat wave, its been up and down, one day near or at 90 in SE PA, the next day in the low 60s. Lots of rain. Warm and cold fronts seem to be doing battle. I don't see the hot and dry forecast they've predicted for this summer, I see another wet and humid summer like last year. We'll see.
