Gfs says Louisiana will get hit and the storm will curve up and east while the EURO has it hitting further west near or in Texas. Bastardi thinks EURO is more likely and that the storm may reach strong Cat 1 or Cat 2
We were expecting another super hot day but some rain showers and clouds stuck around most of the day so we only made it to the 70's for high. Felt nice and a/c barely had to run.
No kidding. And air conditioning has got to be basically non-existent throughout Alaska.
Pretty much, yes.
In SE Alaska, Juneau just set a record for most consecutive days over 70 degrees with 14. I think the streak ended yesterday, but today once again it's over 70.
It's very hot in Austin, my car thermometer read 103. It's a false reading because the high was 97. Tomorrow may be the first 100 degree reading of the year, at least I'm betting on it. Highest temp so far this year was June 8, 2019 at 98 degrees.
Reason I didn't post was I was in New Orleans with my girlfriend. She had never been. At the time, New Orleans was under a strong ridge and it was clear and 97-98 every day and lows of 81. It was extremely hot and muggy, I was fine but she got thirsty and we had to stop a lot for breaks, for me just an excuse to get a pint of beer.
I'll post a pic or two in the photo forum.
