Right now Wednesday's system looks to be a mess here. I wish the low shifts 30 miles south and we end up with all snow.

GFS says absolutely no chance of warmer temps for at least the next 2 week around here and really much of the country. Southeast cools down in the 11-15 (except Florida).

We got a light dusting, maybe half an inch, of snow yesterday morning but most of it melted during the afternoon. Had another round of light snow and freezing drizzle last night. I heard roads were really icy 20-30 miles north of Indy. One state highway was shut down for a time because it was a sheet of ice, but it never got quite that bad here. The drive to work this morning roads were fine with the exception of my icy driveway. Tomorrow night will be interesting. Current forecast calls for an inch of snow after midnight changing to freezing rain by daybreak Wednesday morning and then finally by mid-morning transitioning to all rain. Wednesday morning commute could be fun.

Hey cold biased lover george, no the euro does not show the pna going pos anytime soon. where are you getting this from? even the gefs has it going to neutral not pos. march 1st and winter is done. it is then meteo spring and climate normals rise very fast. the brutal cold window is closing. get over it.

Im restating what was said in the tweet that I posted. I didn't actually look at the model. Just what was posted in the tweet.

So here is what CPC is showing. It looks like it's trying to go positive.

Btw, GFS is showing this for the 11-15. Winter is not done and probably wont be until mid March regardless if it's meteorological spring. At least for here. This past November was almost 6F below average here and we had 12 inches of snow yet it was still meteorological autumn.

Dr. Cohen also says widespread cold during the first half of March so no I'm not looking for cold. It's just what is being forecast right now You and the Northeast/Mid Atlantic will probably get back and forth cold warm spells. I find that pattern more unpleasant than straight cold in spring.
