Already warming fast here. Only 48f this morning thanks to a jet that can't dig down far enough to clear us of clouds. Insane dew points come back by the weekend and mid 80's and maybe upper 80's inland by Monday.
Yesterday I said "last day of November". HAHAHA. I thought was February with 28 days. LOL
Beautiful day here today. Blue skies with some clouds now and then. Walked across parking lot in Short sleeves, someone just had to sarcastically comment "must be warm outside". Yes, it is. 42°F.
Much of the Southeast reached first frost and first freeze more or less simultaneously this year; before that first big cold wave it stayed well above freezing, then that first big one tipped them over.
We had a cold snap in October with a low of 35F and they didn't issue a frost advisory for that. I would generally expect an area of frost advisories to be in the few counties south of the freeze warnings, because those areas would probably have lows in the 33-36F range. Yet I didn't see that in Texas when they had their cold snap a couple weeks ago.

It depends on the WFO. I never got a frost advisory, freeze warning, or hard freeze warning. I think since the first freeze was later than the average date, they didn't issue a warning.
Jacksonville was colder than NYC (or Long Island) this morning. weirdly, 850 hPa show the Northeast much colder than the south
maybe being on the east side of the airmass there was mild air at the surface? Usually, if the south is as cold as us they're under a cold airmass. surface temperatures from the same time:
Yea, Jacksonville had a strong inversion: 1.0°C at the surface, warmed up going higher, 850 mb was 8.4°C. NYC was more normal, 3.4°C at the surface cooler above, -4.3°C
really strong radiational cooling? some cold air from previous days trapped? Good example of when the surface and 850 mb are doing something completely different.
Watch next weekend time frame(Dec 8-9) for a potentially interesting winter storm in the East

Did you see this post from the CT weather thread? No time to look into why.
