We're having unusually cool weather this fall, in northern NM. The summer was cooler than usual, too. There's been a slight cooling trend, the last 3 years or so, which looks a bit like the temps edging back toward normal after a hot trend through the 2000's up to mid-2000-teens, EXCEPT that it's still drier than before, and winters are consistently milder than before. Much milder. (IOW--much less precip. (snow) than before.).
I'm relieved that summers, and now--fall, are cooler, but I'm not expecting it to be a long-term trend, and there's still that issue of inadequate precipitation. So eve though the weather is more tolerable summer-fall, ultimately, the climate isn't supporting sustainability of the population, long-term.
Spring hill temp is in a hole. I am only a few miles from there but i am right on the gulf so my temps are much warmer than just 2 miles inland. I was 65f. First time since Apr. There are some places in holes that are 15 degrees colder than other places.
Nice Mid October day today with a max of 56°. Finally got a chance to mow the lawn. So green!
Looking ahead... So typical. Crazy how the pattern just flips. From Heat and Humidity September and Early October to now constant cold shots next 10 days. If this keeps up winter will come early and I can say #NoFall again.
First... A Still Image from Euro12z of the temps at 5000'.

Shot after shot.
There's couple little ones between 18th & 23rd but stay more north than these. Thursday 18th will bring a real chill into the East.
Tuesday 23rd is even deeper and with a storm looking there?
In motion North American View. Keep on digging in the East now instead of West.
