I haven't been under a tropical rain band like this since hurricane Wilma.
I sit typing 1,400 miles to the northwest 13 years later.

Pretty cool weather pattern.
We needed the rain anyways.

It's rained in my corner of northeast Georgia for 16 consecutive days, including today. Through the first 14 days of May, Athens received only a trace of precipitation, but has received 8.81" of rain since the 15th, not including today. I had some more rain during the wee hours of this morning, and it's raining again right now, so if any of this translates to Athens, then Athens could be pushing 10.00" of rain for the month. Here are the daily rainfall totals in Athens since May 15:

0.82"
0.95"
0.03"
0.51"
0.65"
0.75"
0.03"
1.08"
0.67"
0.93"
0.08"
0.02"
0.08"
2.04"
0.17"

Thankfully, that 2.04" on Memorial Day came late in the evening after I was done grilling with my family. The sun actually came out for a while when I was grilling, so that was nice. But we had a wicked rain band from Tropical Storm Alberto lift through and dump a ****load of rain in just an hour or so.

The good news is, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Rain chances will remain high tomorrow and Friday, but will decrease significantly by Saturday, and there will be no chance of rain by the middle of next week. Here's how the next seven days look:

60% Thursday
60% Friday
30% Saturday
40% Sunday
20% Monday
0% Tuesday
0% Wednesday

Finally!

Hectic day here.. wow at the daily rain in GA. Ugh

Im curious about the gap Marlaver mentioned. I'll check over coffee in the morning.

Clouds broke at 11am today and up we went with haze. Not bad though in upper 70s with dews in 50s and a breeze.

I sprayed for bugs today. Nats all over the place. Poison ivy too

Not for my area or Tampa. Lake Land got around 15.45" so far this month and that is 30 miles east of Tampa. So they maybe breaking a record. We got 17" of rain in two days back in May of 1979.

I got 2" today so i am around 7" for the month. Looks like dryer air aloft coming up for the weekend. We got much more rain from the TS with it being up by you than we did last weekend. Anytime a TS or tropical system goes to the north of us we are left in the fetch and that pumps up plenty of juice from the south.

Big gap where I live too.

Bowling Green, KY had a mean of 53 F / 12 C for April (64 F / 18 C high, 42 F / 6 C low) and 75 F / 24 C for May (85 F / 29 C high, 64 F / 18 C low).

22 F / 12 C spread. Average is 9 F / 5 C.

Cambridge Bay updated to use a weather station with more complete data. All data above still accurate to May 28, some locations have had higher temperatures in the two days since.

This afternoon (Wed, May 30) Grise Fiord recorded a temperature of 0.4 C / 32.7 F, tentatively marking them off the list of places that haven't hit freezing. Will have to see if the official weather station (Grise Fiord Climate) got above freezing.
