Glad you're enjoying it. The furthest south I have ever lived is the Ohio Valley, and the climate is far too warm here for my liking. I couldn't imagine ever living in Florida in my worst nightmare due to heat and humidity.

You would just die. Walk out side to get the paper at 530am when we are in a reverse west windflow and get slapped in the face with a low of 82 and a 76 to 80 degree dewpoint in the summer. It is like having all the air sucked out of you as it is so thick and heavy it just makes you wanna roll over and die. And we have near 5 solid months of it. Just going out and doing anything and you get soaked with sweat. Pure hell on earth that only Queensland is used to having in a way down under.

That hot 90 degree gulf water with a west wind is the steam bath effect i call it.

WOW on the rain. Just over 1.5" . So about 4" total for the month and below normal temps for the month. Just the other way around last Jan with super warm temps and very little rain. So the long range forcast was way off for this month.

We just had a bit of a warm spell. My first time in a 2018 Honda Accord (they're redesigned, all-new this year) was on Friday, January 26 at 2:53 pm. I was wearing shorts and it felt really good outside. It was driven by someone in one of my favorite sororities. Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY happy and am still very happy two days later.

TOR it was 60 F / 16 C with clear skies and a south wind of 16 mph. Humidity was 24% and barometric pressure was 30.37 in.

Hasn't been below average since Saturday, January 20. The 25th did have a below average low (22 F / -6 C vs. 26 F / -3 C) but the high more than compensated at 55 F / 13 C vs. 46 F / 8 C.

Looks seasonable for January 29 - February 6. I'd love to see some snow but this has been a good January weatherwise.

Had another .50" during the nite. So my total for the month is around 4.50". Just pray the upper level pattern does not go flat in Feb and March. Now with all the dead plants from the freeze we do not need a super dry late winter and spring or it will be fire heaven.

Current surface map.. See the storm in the south? It's going to ride up the front that stalled off the coast. Can you imagine that front stalled just 100 miles west more??? Big events are sometimes just a 'few' miles off.

Only the coast near southern New England will get snow thrown back. Then notice the storm over the Great Lakes. That will come pivot into the Northeast and throw snow over PA and NY when the coastal storm leave.
Imagine they merged together? #MissedBy12hrs.
