We got a whole lot of nothin' from this storm - lots of rain, some sleet and ice this morning...and maybe 1-2" of powder that the wind has blown all over the place. Most of the snowpack is gone but at least everything is still white.
Just my gut feeling. I bet we'll be well above normal in Feb-March in the East. Opposite last yr.
I dont think we'll get "sustained" below normal cold anymore. Snow chances seem minimal after Tuesday here. Ups and Downs mostly so timing has to be perfect for us. Unlike when we had arctic air sustained it was easier to get snow.
Thanks for the Front loaded winter. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.
Just did a bike round in Central Park. Was about 1C with strong NW winds. Surprised that many of the snowpiles did survive that onslaught of BS yesterday. Even more surprising, the lakes were still frozen solid. Well, the surfaces did thaw out slightly, but underneath they were still clearly solid ice from the previous weeks.

And just when the pattern flips favorable for snow, the PV is forecast to move into Siberia. Just can't win here. Even if we saw half of the cold anomalies you guys saw out east, I'd call that a win. We haven't seen a back loaded winter here in a long time.
