From 1950 till today, the lowest temperature recorded in my city has been -9.7°C but temperature dropped to -18°C in the winter of 1929. It was too extreme.

Both record low temperature and record snow thickness were recorded in that winter ( Both were in February 1929).

It's always fun when the west gets convective activity.

86 F with a 74 F dew point here right now, heard some distant thunder. Feels like it hasn't rained in a while here.

Looks like the PNW will join in on the action on Thursday as the ridge breaks down/moves east. Hopefully the forecast pans out as we haven't gotten a thunderstorm in at least 2 months (in Vancouver).

Not here. Did you forget our storms are convective so it can literally pour two miles away while you're not receiving anything?

Wow, that's very impressive, especially considering your climate is basically just a warm version of Vancouver.

Personally, I would love to experience January 1950. Vancouver had an average temperature of -6.3C and to this day that remains by far the coldest month ever recorded (records go back to 1937). There were multiple days with highs below -10C and the coldest it got (at the airport) was -17.8C. Most of the Vancouver area, however, was below -18C on the coldest day. Around 90-100cm of snow fell that month.

It didn't make it up there? Huh.

The storm I'm talking about was a squall line that formed in the keys and tracked north all the way to and across the entire miami area spanning from MIA to east or Key Biscayne before continuing north and was quite epic. I assumed it made it to you as well but I guess not.

Nice! Hopefully you can get some good storms to materialize. Are dew points going to be higher than normal?

Nope, that squall missed me to the east. This area is a thunderstorm hole I swear. Just another day in Davington.

You guys make me jealous of the weather over there. It'd be great to have 85F weather with thunderstorms and tropical rains now
