Sometimes I hear that extreme Southern Ohio and extreme southern Indiana are part of the South.

You would know better than me. I think culture and rural areas are a big factor. I'm probably biased because of where I grew up. Even South Jersey feels southern to me lol (exaggeration, kind of).

Thought was supposed to hit 80 today. It's only 71° at 12:30pm and sunny. Maybe later? Sun sets at 7:20pm.

Nobody been using pools around here since Mid August

They certainly have a strong southern influence there, it's kind of a transitional area cultural/phonetically wise, but in terms of climate those areas aren't very southern at all.

I remember stopping in Portsmouth, OH one time (on the border with KY) and it seemed southern to me culturally. The pace of life, the way people spoke, etc was very southern. And it being summer with deep green vegetation it could have easily been anywhere in the South. The winter climate there is what sets it apart though.

South Jersey especially in summer does seem like the south! South NJ has a very similar summer weather to somewhere like TN.

An uncharacteristically chilly first week of uni. Typically Septembers here tend to be warm and humid, so this is quite a surprise. The average high so far is 60F this month! 13F below average! 13F does not seem much for such a small time span, but lets remember how stable summers are

August 31: 6th coldest on record
September 1: 2nd coldest on record, behind 1975
September 2: 5th coldest on record
September 3: 2nd coldest on record, behind 1974

It's 82F and the dew point's are still in the 70's. Dews were in the 60's this morning when it was raining. Feels like I'm in the Midwest and the South.

80 and sunny with a 56 dew as of 3 PM. Quite windy too with gusts of around 35 mph and sustained winds around 20 mph.

The forecast high was 83, so looks like its gonna be yet another forecast busy on a warm day as had been typical this year
