Not sure where you're getting your stats from; but Seattle averages about 2-3 days of snow a year. Averages are slightly marred by missing data, some years the snow recorder was turned off 1996-2004 at the airport station. Blaine, Washington which right on the Canadian border records about double, 5 days but again lots of years with missing data. Vancouver has an average of 8.7 days with snow if the threshold is 0.2 cm; 2.5 days if the threshold is 5 cm. US threshold is 1 inch (2.5 cm); 5-6 days is likely the correct Vancouver numbers.
Average snowfall is actually quite different when comparing SeaTac to YVR. 6.8cm vs 38.1cm. I'm assuming however that SeaTac is probably the warmest spot in the Seattle Metro region as YVR is in Metro Vancouver as the suburbs always receive more snow.

Yea, I thought Vancouver is a lot higher. I doubt downtown Seattle would be that much higher, there's not a huge topography difference; both are blocked by the Olympics.
And speaking of dreary NW... I bet its a rainy forecast with the sub tropical jet like that. And that pacific moisture is coming down the pipe to Quebec/Northeast next week
should dump a ton snow in the mountains. Wonder where the snowline will be. Without checking temperature maps and just looking at the setup, 4000 feet?
