GFS continues advertising all time record cold in June... as in never seen before temps. With highs that low expect really low yields this year. Maybe as low as some of the lowest years on record in the 70s.

Latest run of the gfs has a day not breaking 60 on the VA NC border. That would be unprecedented. Meanwhile record warm Temps in high Canada and Siberia.

Where has the warmth gone? Blame the Canadians and ruskies.

^^

Blame western US and western Canada

PNA is positive but it looks as if it will go negative mid month. That could help with warming up eastern CONUS

On the otherhand, aside for a short spike early on,we had neutral PNA throughout May and that didn't seem to help warm us up

It's been awful since the start of May here. Just a handful of nice or warm days. Yesterday was nice, and so will today, but cooling off later in the week. June is looking poor now...

Yep, would be nice to at least be seasonable... I like that... but not the GFS. Bright side models have been doing terrible lately.

I cannot believe Bridgeport is currently +1 above normal for the month. Can't we just eliminate those stupid 4 days!

Just put this together. All years on record for Bridgeport for month of May. Damn at 1967 being 8 below normal. WOW

If this month doesn't end up below normal it will be 8 May's in a row above normal and I will keep repeating this year is only because of 4 days worth. FOUR!!

Decade of 2000s had 6 May's below normal.

Last time we were 1+ below normal was 2005.

Here's May 1967. Only 1 day was above normal. 74 was the max of month. Lots of dips into the 30s and 40s. Highs staying below 60. What a month.

What does winds off the Atlantic mean?

This... 50s on Memorial Day. I'm wearing a sweatshirt to a BBQ today. Usually I'm in shorts and sweating on Memorial Day

May 1967 sticks out in my mind for being chilly. Lots of chilly years in the 1960s. Maybe because it was dryer?

You're right about a few days completely skewing the average.
