The last few summers have had days of 100mms plus. Had 350mm+ in 24 hrs in the neighbouring town (sea level) about 5 years ago. Heavy rains are are feature of the climate.

Some warm days coming up, with temperatures forecast into the lows 40s C. Got a new fan today, after the old one " let us down" last night.

Melbourne was pleasant on Saturday. It certainly looks much more like LA than some typical oceanic climate like Paris.

These last few days have been great here in northwestern Patagonia. The lows are starting to consistently stay above 10°C and highs are around 25°C. Fantastic.

Only problem has been wind but today it's calm for the most part.

This chilly weather is quite impressive for the middle of summer.

I would like to point out that that's not entirely accurate. For instance, on August 17, 2013, Auburn, Alabama, at 32.57 degrees north and only 51 m elevation, recorded a maximum temperature of just 19 degrees Celsius (the normal maximum is around 32 degrees). This is lower than the 22 degree forecast maximum of Durazno, Uruguay on its coldest day (at 33.35 degrees south and 93 m elevation). Lows in the mid-to-low 10s Celsius were widespread across the southeastern U.S. at several points during the summers of 2013 and 2014, not unlike what's happening now in South America.

Wow,I dont knew that !

But thoses "cool" weaves are much more common here in South America, for example,Mercedes(33S/11m) has a January/February record low of 5.0C and 5.3C respectively, while Atlanta at same latitude has a July/August record low of 12C and 13C.,this happens because of the cold ocean,as you know, Southern South America is affected by two cold currents on both coasts, who allow frequent cool air from Antartic even in summer.

Patagonia is the most incredible, towns like Esquel has a record low of -5.4C in January,a common thing in thoses places is the high chance of frosts even in the heart of summer, something that doesnt happens in North America at low latitude and altitude.

Heat keep strong on central Chile/Southern Argentina.

Chilean forests are literally "burning",they are suffering one of most severe wildfire in history due to the well above temperatures this summer, with a great area of 15C+ anomalies.

Forecast showing 40C to Chillan.

At least the minimuns are good enough to sleep at night.

Cfs are showing a break and below normal temperatures this early February(5-day temperature anomaly).

Yep, near record values today in Chile. 41.7ºC in Los Angeles is the national record there. So, reaching 40s is really hot for their standards.
In this side of the Andes, quite the opposite. Min of 12ºC here today, it felt chilly at midnight. Now only 23ºC at 14pm.

Hell yeah, if anything this is like a perfect summer forecast for me. Obviously sucks for the forested areas though
