This was our December (today being dry with a low of 14 C and high of 23 C):
Currently a very balmy night (by our standards) with 23 C at 1:30 AM. Forecast high of 30 C tomorrow before we enter long spell of cool, rainy weather.
Yipee!!. The last few days have been pretty grey here.
Only got to 26C here for December, but also only managed two days below 21C. Got more minimums below 9C than Christchurch did though, with 14 such nights here.
Haven't got the final tally on rain and sun yet, but it's looks like around 1600mm of rain and 2500 hours of sun for the year

Jesus Christ La Paz, even in heat waves it only gets up to like 18° in the summer. Idk why ever build a city there, between the insane sun strength and the altitude sickness Idk why you would ever live there
I love central Argentina's climate, it's so dry that even when it's 35c it feels really comfy. Dry heat is the best heat. The raspados and helado de lucuma and take a dip in the pool heat. Add in the refreshingly cool nights, and it's the perfect climate

lol, you mean, western Argentina. Central and eastern Argentina had been anything but dry this week. In fact, today some stations there had insane dewpoints and heat index. For instance, Sunchales, north of Santa Fe Province, recorded a crazy Td of 28.4ºC and a heat index of 50.8ºC!
Not to mention the crazy min of 27ºC on the New Year's day in Buenos Aires (record for the day). It felt like a giant sauna.
However, in the dry side La Rioja still recorded 45ºC and was the warmest station today. Last days there:

Thanks to the massive humidity in the eastern side of the country, there were some big hailstorms. Check this one in the nort of Entre Rios Province:
Another beach today. Sitting on the beach isn't my usual thing, but got visitors from Dunedin staying and they want to swim and sit on the beach and do the picnic thing.. Offshore water temperature was 19C, and a bit warmer inshore, but still not mid summer warm yet. Air temperature about 22C with a sea breeze.
Camera back in action, so some photos.
First two photos show yet another one of the many beaches in the area. Next three show a local park (visitors want to do a daily walk as well] This park shows original vegetation in this area. The second photo of the set shows a seriously tall tree fern -we all estimated 40-50ft.

It's actually not as bad as it sounds. December here had an average minimum of 8.9C, and today had 7.4C as a minimum, yet I've still been swimming on most days over the last few weeks.
7:00 am temperatures around the country this morning vary between 2C (Omarama and Taupo)) and 15.5C (Dargaville)

Temperaturers of the sea on Chilean coast are 5C colder than the waters around Nelson, the geography of this part where you live allows the water to be warmer.
