A mixed/cold day yesterday back in Motueka, with neighbouring areas seeing temperature ranges as low as 7C/14C and others seeing 12C/21C, and moderate rainfall totals of up to 27mm.
The sort of localised weather the area sometimes gets.
Couple of busy days in the country. First, two days ago, some summer snow in the mountains of Mendoza Province.
And then a massive low wich produced high winds across Buenos Aires province yesterday, with values as high as 130kph smashing a lot of trees in my city.
In the atlantic coast towns even a waterspout brought destruction to the beach. Watch the scary video!
With temps of 45C to up 47C , these are some of the bravest forecast temps I have seen, and more reminiscent of outback places like Bourke or Birdsville.
Perth in contrast to the record heat in much of eastern Australia yesterday has had it's coldest February day on record with a maximum of just 17.4C/63F (14 degrees below average) and the coolest summer day since 1952.
To top that off since about 11pm heavy rain associated with a tropical low to the northwest has dumped 110mm (4.3") of rain on the city making it the second wettest day in Perth on record. The previous record was 120mm just about 25 years to the day on 8/2/1992.
Along with some good rain in late January, Perth has had 170mm of rain so far this summer (average: 35.5mm) so it will certainly rank among the top 3 wettest summers on record here.

Over 30mm predicted here tomorrow, but yet the inverse occurs here, with the coast receiving the lesser accumulations of storms and places on the interior being dumped with rain, typical of summer.

That's a good thing, acccording to your maps the inland parts of the Northeast are in a drought
