Is this a serious comment? A 100 F change in 24 hours has literally happened once in recorded history. And a 100 F change in four weeks is a big deal even in places like ND or Winnipeg, let alone Syracuse which is far less continental.

The Bermuda High.
The Mid Levels at +9°C in New England
Or the Rare Upper Low over Mexico at 22-25°N. I don't remember seeing one that far south. This is interesting to see. It's cold/cool under that Low down there and I believe breaking or near record cold there

From the stations available with this, here are the early afternoon temps there.
6c in Aguascalientes, now, WOW! That's like 15-20c below average

Looks like we topped out at 72f, shame. I really wanted it to hit 75, since then that would be hotter than any day we had last April

Chicopee, MA hit 80 today. They hit -17° on 2/15. 97 degree range in 23 days.

We don't usually get a strong Polar blast then June weather within 1 month time
The fastest 100 degree rise I know of in the Eastern US was in Saranac Lake in 2014. That year saw -25F on March 24th and then 77F on April 14th. Up 102 degrees in 21 days. Comparable to this year but a month earlier.

This also illustrates how transitional the month of March can be in the NE. One year can see widespread subfreezing temps and snowstorms throughout the month, and the next year might see 80s in the first couple of weeks. Hell, some years might get both.

In Fairbanks, AK during January 2009 the temperature went up by 91 F in five days. From -47 F on the 9th to 44 F on the 14th!

Yeah, pretty awesome. Tok and Northway were similarly impressive: -60s to +40s in ten days, then back down to -40s in another three days. I've even heard reports of sub -70F on the 9th in the Tok region.

Anyways, doesn't look like there'll be much of a pattern change this March. I see upper 50s and 60s throughout the 10-day forecast for Islip. Good 10F above average. I assume it's like this throughout the NE. Gross.

I remember that. There were even unofficial reports of -80 F around Tok around January 8.

Strange temperature pattern on Mt. Washington. What's with the drop from 1600 feet to 2300 feet?

Looks like the White Mountains are at the border of a sharp temperature contrast and somehow the cold northern airmass is mixing at the higher elevations at different rates.

Same here, but no more days in the 70s let alone near 80°F. Doesn't seem like there's a chance of a repeat of these conditions. Wind is picking up. Supposed to stay mild overnight then rain late afternoon.

Next seven days are going to be pretty gross here too. Highs in the low-mid 80s and lows in the upper 60s/low 70s. Looks more like mid-late April than early March.
