Temps have now fallen back into the 40s after sundown. I've noticed an increase in high level clouds throughout the day today. There's an 80% chance of rain tomorrow. Radar is already showing a healthy amount in the SE part of Louisiana. High might hit 70 F tomorrow afternoon depending on how strong the south wind flow is. The hard freezing weather will be back early next week.

Had a dusting of snow this morning. We've probably got a half an inch at most this week and for the entire winter thus far.

Nice image of a New England city [Manchester, New Hampshire] with the snow and brick mill buildings. Posting just for its photo, not the link:

Hurricane Alex heading to Greenland. GFS has it a Cat2 just off the mainland.

We had Hurricane Alice in January 1955.

You think Alex could affect our storm patterns? Alex is much further north than Alice was so more impressive IMO

Wonder if it will help cause blocking around greenland (negatuve nao)

On the latitude note...another interesting thing...

It formed with waters under 80°F

Light pillars.. street lights reflecting off ice crystals in the air. Only became aware of this phenomenon recently.
