Thanks.
Kosanica was only 1.1c from the national September record.
Yes, Montenerin lowest record for September is -9.2c from September 30, 1970 in Grahovo. Grahovo is closer to Adriatic Sea than Kosanica and it is at significant lower altitude (710 m). Also, Grahovo is not cut off from the sea by such high mountains as Kosanica and it is located on the karst (Kosanica is on a plateau). In general Grahovo is little colder version of Nikšić - it is geographically close to Nikšić, but at a little higher altitude.
Lowest temperature ever recorded in Sjenica in September is -9.3c. I am very sure that Kosanica sometimes in the past (before the existence of weather station) had lows below -10c in May and September. And below -20c in April (in the April last year was pretty close with -19.1c)
Among stations from my previous post which yesterday morning recorded frost there are two at low altitudes - Slatina-Čačak (360 m) and Zaječar (144 m). Slatina-Čačak is interesting place with potential for pretty low temperatures for own altitude. It is new station opened less two years ago. According to measurements until now, Slatina-Čačak is colder version of Požega (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Požega,_Serbia#Climate). Slatina-Čačak mostly has lower and sometimes significant lower minimums than Požega.
I wonder if you know the date of the Žabljak July minimum temperature of 0.4c?
I've only found a 0.6c in 1984.
I didn't find that information either. It was probably in the Yugoslavian time. On Wikipedia is written 0.4c as lowest temperature in July in Žabljak since 1958. In the database of RHMZ for period 1958-1985 there is no data for Žabljak for some years and months.
About Kosanica from Montenegrin TV, the tittle is: "Kosanica - the coldest village in Montenegro." Woman at 0:23 - 0:28 says that climate on the Kosanica is very harsh and this year on St. Peter's Day (July 12) the potatoes froze -- man at 0:47 - 0:56 says that few times temperature up to -39c were recorded (i mentioned that, those were amateur measurements at 2 meters from the ground in 21st century) -- at 1:10 - 1:37 was said the low temperatures on Kosanica are result of the formation of "lake" cold air and conditions for extremely low temperatures is dry cold air mass without wind.

On the ZHMS website it's also given as 0.4c.
According to this paper (page 80) the absolute minimum in July between 1965 and 2004 is 0.6c: http://www.dgt.uns.ac.rs/zbornik/issue36/06.pdf
I suppose it's the 1984 value.
If that dataset is complete, the 0.4c had to occur before 1965. If the value is correct at all.

Anyway, Žabljak had no frost in July (and August) since 1958. In Serbia three stations recorded frost in all summer months - Sjenica, Karajukića Bunari and Kopaonik. On all three stations meteorological measurements last for decades (the shortest in Karajukića Bunari). Only Kopaonik of these tree stations is higher than Žabljak.
From a man who traveled all over former Yugoslavia in all seasons and various weather conditions i heard that he saw the biggest snows and and the strongest blizzards in Žabljak and Kupres (of inhabited places) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kupres

Can you confirm that Kosanica weather station's elevation is not 1320 m as given by ZHMS, but about 1205 m?

Yes, it is at 1205 m. I found out that in the mean time. On the site of ZHMS it still stands 1320 m, and that is a mistake. Lowest part of Kosanica field is at 1180 m. Too bad the station isn't placed there, because most likely the lowest part of Kosanica field is little colder than place where is station.
Dothan in the US state of Alabama had some most interesting weather in January 2022:
-They broke their all time record high for January of 27.2 Celsius, reaching 28.3 Celsius on New Year's Day.
-They also broke their all time record high minimum for January of 20.7 Celsius - New Year's Day had a 21.7 Celsius minimum.
-They had their 3rd latest first freeze ever (January 3), compared to a median first freeze date being in the first 2/3 of November.
-They had their 3rd warmest minimum temperature for an entire winter season on record (-3.3 Celsius), which was of course much warmer than their median -6.1 Celsius lowest January temperature.
You'd expect a January like this to be record breakingly warm, or close to it. But just as interestingly, it actually below normal - it averaged 9.3 Celsius compared to a normal of 10.4 Celsius.
