@Vesca

Mean temperature in Kosanica in March 2022 was -3.8c https://abload.de/img/cgtsr-mart2022.1000mf3kdn.jpg
As you can see Kosanica again was colder than higher Žabljak which had mean temperature of -2.5c. Njegovuđa (1315 m) with mean -3.7c and Gornja Bukovica (1380 m) with -2.8c were also colder than higher Žabljak in March.

Average low in this March in Kosanica was -11.5c and average high was +4.2c, in Njegovuđa average low was -10.5c and average high +2.8c, in Gornja Bukovica average low was -8.2c and average high +3.1c

Žabljak had 30 days with frost, Kosanica 28, Njegovuđa 28, and Gornja Bukovica 28. Interesting, Gradac (700 m) which is on significant lower altitude than Kosanica, Njegovuđa and Gornja Bukovica had 29 days with frost.
With frost bellow -10c Kosanica had 14 days, Njegovuđa 13, Žabljak 12, and Gornja Bukovica 11.

March extremes in Kosanica were -30.1c and 13.5c, in Njegovuđa -25.3c and 13c, in Gornja Bukovica from -21.4c and 12.1c, and in Žabljak -18.5c and 15.3c https://abload.de/img/cgekstremnetemperaturwjjc.jpg

Thanks.

Interesting in the winter 2021/2022 lowest temperature in Gornja Bukovica was not recorded in December, January or February, but in March. It is -21.4c recorded on March 13 https://abload.de/img/cgminimalci13.03.2022p1jv2.jpg

I forgot to mention mean temperatures in Gradac and neighboring Pljevlja in the March 2022. In Gradac it was 0.5c and in Pljevlja 1.5c https://abload.de/img/cgtsr-mart2022.500-106wjiq.jpg
Regardless station in Pljevlja is for 84 m higher (784 m), Gradac is mostly colder than Pljevlja. It is like relation between Kosanica/Njegovuđa and Žabljak; regardless Žabljak is at higher altitude Kosanica and Njegovuđa are usually colder.

This morning on April 21 Kosanica, Sjenica and Karajukića Bunari were well below 0c. But this time the coldest was Karajukića Bunari, not Kosanica as usual.

Today's lows and highs in these three places:
Karajukića Bunari: Tmin -8.9c / Tmax +3.8c
Kosanica: Tmin -6.4c / Tmax +7.8c
Sjenica: Tmin -5.6c / Tmax +6.4c

The iceboxes of the Balkans

It's a pity there are no measurements in Sokolac, BH any more.

Weather station in Sokolac exist since 1951, at an altitude of 872 m (in Sjenica is at 1038 m). But unfortunately real-time weather data for Sokolac are unavailable. Some data can be found for months later.
On the site of RHMZ exist data for Sokolac for the period 1951-1985. For Sjenica exist since 1949, and according to Sjenica i reconstructed mean temperatures in two missing years for Sokolac (1949 and 1950) for average for the period 1949-1985:
Sokolac (1949-1985)
Jan -5c
Feb -2.8c
Mar 1.4c
Apr 6.3c
May 11.3c
Jun 14.4c
Jul 16c
Aug 15.6c
Sep 12.1c
Oct 7.2c
Nov 2.3c
Dec -2.2c
Annual 6.4c
....
Sjenica (1949-1985)
Jan -5c
Feb -3.2c
Mar 1c
Apr 6.1c
May 11c
Jun 13.9c
Jul 15.4c
Aug 15.2c
Sep 11.8c
Oct 7.1c
Nov 2.6c
Dec -2.1c
Annual 6.2c
....
They had identical mean temperature in January. Sokolac was slightly colder in November and December, and Sjenica in other months. Sjenica was slightly colder by annual temperature.

Lowest temperature measured in Sokolac was -34.6c in January 1985. In the same month lowest temperature in Sjenica was -35.6c. In January 1985 mean temperature in Sokolac was -8.3c and in Sjenica -6.5c.
The lowest temperature in the winter 2021/22 in Sokolac was -23.3c measured on January 25. These are temperatures in Sokolac for every day of January 2022 (blue line down are minimums, and red line up are maximums) https://i.ibb.co/nr32mBY/IMG-20220422-191825-4.jpg

Thanks. I didn't know Sokolac station was still operational. Where can I found its data?

According to my research the Bosnian absolute monthly minimum records for the months of January, February, November and December belong to Sokolac.

According to my research the Bosnian absolute monthly minimum records for the months of January, February, November and December belong to Sokolac.
You can find here https://www.hidmet.gov.rs/latin/mete...godisnjaci.php, for the former Yugoslavia including Bosnia there is data until 1985 (for Sokolac 1951-1985) and for Serbia until 2020 (except for the 1986-1989, it is unavailable).

For example this is for 1956 for Sokolac https://i.ibb.co/vVrfvLW/IMG-20220422-223555.jpg
Mean temperatures by months and lowest temperatures recorder in every month:
Jan -3.5c (low. -26.9c)
Feb -11.4c (low. -33.6c)
Mar -2.2c (low -19c)
Apr 6.8c (low -9.5c)
May 11c (low 1c)
Jun 13c (low 1.5c)
Jul 16.8c (low 3c)
Aug 17.5c (low 3.1c)
Sep 14c (low -4.1c)
Oct 6.5c (low -8.5c)
Nov 0.4c (low. -13.7c)
Dec -5.5c (low -25.4c)
Annual 5.3c

February 1956 with mean temperature of -11.4c was the coldest month on average in Sokolac since measurements exist.

Sokolac most likely carry the lowest Bosnian minimums of inhabited places. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Bosnia is -43c measured in a locality Veliko Polje (about 1200 m) on the mountain Igman https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igman
-43c in Veliko Polje in January 1963 is as well officially the lowest temperature ever recorded in entire Balkans. Veliko Polje is for about 35 m higher than Karajukića Bunari, and for about 120 lower than Kosanica. In 1963 stations in Karajukića Bunari and Kosanica of course did not exist, and i can only imagine lowest minimums in these (inhabited) places in that month and other cold winters from the past when stations did not exist. In Sjenica in January 1963 lowest temperature was -31.6c and in Sokolac -32.2c

Yes I know that website. My question was about the recent data for Sokolac.
By the way, you can find the 1986-1989 data for Sokolac here: https://www.fhmzbih.gov.ba/latinica/...godisnjaci.php

I see.

I found here that on January 8, 2017 in Sokolac Tmin was -29.6c (around middle, below the subtitle 1. ДЕКАДА) https://rhmzrs.com/wp-content/upload...09/Jan2017.pdf

For comparison, in January 2017 lowest temperature in Sjenica was -27.6c and in Karajukića Bunari -30c
